Emerald Green: More than just this year's trend!

While Pantone has named Emerald Green the color of the year--I contend that I have personally endorsed this color as nothing short of amazing for the past decade. When I was in college one of my interior design project assignments was to design and brand a retail store--my store name was Emerald Slippers (a shoe store). Point Made? I think so! Maybe its because I am brunette and its usually a good color for me or maybe because I associate it with summertime or maybe its for a host of other reasons but none the less--I am loving all the inspiration that is out there right now highlighting this color in gorgeous interior room palettes!

I have yet to inject an accent color in my living room which is made up of a sea of neutrals so  I have been thinking about this color as a great option to combine with my gray-bowns, blacks and whites.

This design by Stephen Gambrel is featured in the March issue of Elle Decor. I love the contrast of dark grays, sharp black and white with accents of emerald green. I have a couple of thrift store parson style ottomans that would look amazing re-done in an emerald green cotton velvet upholstery job!

Thrifiting Find: Brass Tea Table /Bar Cart

I am so excited about this gorgeous thrift find-a vintage brass tea table/bar cart. I spotted this gorgeous piece the other weekend at the Goodwill. It definitely looked a little rough around the edges but my slightly older and much wiser brother encouraged me to buy after a quick text pic I sent his way!

After a little help from Brasso and some elbow grease--It now looks likes it stepped right out of a showroom! Who knows--it may have been in one at some point. I spotted a made in Italy Sticker on the bottom as I was cleaning it--always a good sign!

You can see in the pic below, there is a removable glass tray with handles. I love this detail--makes it truly unique.

Check it out! It couldn't look more beautiful sitting in my living room , styled with my brass lamp (another thrift find) and a ceramic horse head from Target along with a few designer coffee table books.

Who doesn't love to see a label like this on just about anything--but especially during a shoe sale or on thrift store furniture!!
